I recently 'GOT' several files from the LISTSERVer (notably the //GS CDA files) and was unsuccessful EXEC'ing all of them including the DOC files. The problem is identical in all cases: The EXEC seems to be working fine until it gets to the E00G or E05G command. Invariably I get a SYNTAX ERROR and, although the files have been saved, the filetype remains BIN (I understand that the function of the E0x Call is to restore the proper file type). I am using a //e rather than a GS to do the downloading and EXEC'ing (I know the files are useless on that machine but shouldn't the EXEC process be transparent?) Earlier EXECUTIONER prepared files behaved similarly except that even with the SYNTAX ERROR the files were properly restored. Can anyone give me a clue here? Also, some of the files give a simple ERROR during the EXEC process which I assume is caused by corrupted code. Anyone else out there having similar difficulties? Eric S.
