Basically, what need be enphasized is that there really is no encoding, par se.
It is Pascal P-code. The character stats (and game serial number) are all
 on track 0 of the player side. All the wordings are scattered about the
disk, most being toward the last tracks.

Anyway, in terms of an editor, there are some. WIZEDIT is a good one
for Wiz I & II. Wiz III's format is much different. There is a good editor
out there circulating, called "The Complete Wizardry Editor" (or The Big 'M'),
that edits ALL versions IN EVERY RESPECT (so, you wanted to invent your
own weapons, eh?). In fact you can make senarios. Look around.....
