I loaded 145K on disk 331K in appleworks text file into appleworks several times and averaged the results. The first time is always slower one cache program cache from prosel could not handle this large file but CACHE-XL from the same disk works fine. While loading such a large file it became how each cache program works AE (Applied Engineering) and Diversi-cache read whole tracks storing them in ram this accounts for the slower first time read and faster subsequent as tracks are already in ram. Prosel on the other hand stores the file to disk with a normal read resulting in a much slower first read. Here are the results Normal read AE Diversi Prosel-xl Prosel 1:01 21.1 21.4 1:01 1.01 First 18.3 17.8 23.9 1.01 next As with my previous test it's esentially a draw between AE and Diversified. I'll give the edge to diversified again as its automatically installed once it's added to the ProDos file One last Thing I use a 1.5meg GS Ram loading Appleworks after the time prompt too 7.5 sec with AE program and 12.2 with Diversi-cache. Appleworks was modified for the AE card.
