[comp.sys.apple] Thanks, Kermit, Magazines

PGOETZ@LOYVAX.BITNET (12/01/87)

Thanks to Steve Dawson, Grant Delaney, Eric Ford, & others who sent me
info so I have some idea what I'm doing. Grant sent the Executioner, Eric, so
thanks but don't bother.

Trouble: I got Kermit 3.79 from KERMSRV@CUVMA, but can't get it to work.
First it says, KERMIT.INIT FILE NOT FOUND, then I get the KERIMT-65 prompt.
But if I CONNECT, instead of sending characters to my modem it hangs. I've
tried logging on first & then running Kermit, but it still will not CONNECT
back to modem. I'm using a Super Serial Card clone wi. a Hayes 1200 clone.

Mike Kao: I got the $32 quote from the Nov. 87 Computist #49, so it's current.
It's changed. The stiff cover was traded off for 8 more pages per issue.
There are more softkeys. And, as of issue 46, it no longer pays for articles
(though it hopes to be able to pay for feature articles again.) I couldn't
send mail to you, gmail says you don't exist.

Can anyone tell me the current status of the following magazines:
Apple Software Protection Digest, made by Gilder of Redlig Systems
TAP/YPPL
2600
Washington Apple Pi: They took my money, but never sent me anything.
Apple Orchard: Is it still the useless users' mag it became around 84?
Call APPLE: " " " ...
