Well, I can't help you too much with messed up headers in AppleWorks, but I would ask the following questions. 1) What copy program ddo you use to make backups of AppleWorks? Do NOT use COPY ][+, LOCKSMITH, DISK MUNCHER, etc. If you do, you are only asking for trouble. They will not copy the 5.25" version of AppleWorks correctly. 2) You said you had not tried it without the expander, have you tried that yet? (your letter was dated Oct. 30th). I would like to know what has happened. 3) This really isn't a question. But I do have a file with some pokes that you can do when you encounter a disk that says it is a segmented file. I can either rcp it to you, or you can get it from either my data library (I have a few other AE related tech notes there as well) or in my Applied Engineering conference. Please let me know what you find out. Eugene Whitehouse had a similar problem a while ago with AppleWorks. I can't remember what he found out about it though.
