In the Khan episode of the series, the Botony Bay was discarded after the Enterprise was seized and Khan's crew revived. Khan's people went down to the planet either in Shuttlecraft or by transporter. However, the ship's hull which Checkov and Terrel discover is specifically described as the hull of the Botony Bay. -- Yehoyaqim Shemtob Martillo (An Equal Opportunity Offender)

Another error in the movie is that Khan recognizes Chekov and calls him by name, saying that he never forgets a face. In fact, Chekov didn't appear in that episode of the series.

Well, if we're talking errors in STII, here's another one: In the original episode the movie is based on, most of Khan's loyal following appear to be in their late 20's/early 30's, most of them with dark complexions and dark hair. In the movie, Khan looked like he had aged appropriately, but his loyal following didn't appear to age at all. Furthermore, in the movie, most of his his loyal followers had light complexions and light hair. They weren't offspring of the original inhabitiants, because Khan made a comment to Captain Terrill about his followers taking a vow to live and die with him many years before he(Terrill) was born, so Khan's loyal followers in the movie were the original followers in the original TV episode.

Note: Mr. Martillo's message appeared only in net.movies. I've sent my reply to net.startrek also because I figured there would be interest there. > In the Khan episode of the series, the Botony Bay was discarded after the > Enterprise was seized and Khan's crew revived. There was no indication that the the ship's hull in TWOK was the hull of the *Botany Bay*. Chekov found some belts/strapping/whatever that had "Botany Bay" printed on them. It was clear that some supplies (personal ef- fects) from the *Botany Bay* were brought aboard the *Enterprise* when Khan's people were rescued. To be fair, this is from memory. Since I happen to have tapes of both "Space Seed" (uncut) and THE WRATH OF KHAN, I will check on this to confirm. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard, MA) UUCP: {decvax|ihnp4|allegra|ucbvax|...}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-akov68!boyajian ARPA: boyajian%akov68.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA

RE: Error in STII______________________________________________________________ Hmm, didn't Chekhov figure it was the Botany Bay because of the books and stuff laying around? <_Jym_>
