First of all I am not sure exactly what caused that looping mail problem. The operators here seem to think it was listserv choking on a returned arpanet mail. All returned mail is supposed to come to my account, which it did, but for some strange reason also went back out to the list and every 5 minutes or so would send another file out. This continued all night. I guess those are the hazards of letting a robot take care of the mail but that is a discussion for risks. What I wanted to let everyone know what that I had to switch the way of distributing mail. This new way does not send mail acknowledgements to let you know that your posting has arrived. (or at least I can't get it to send me acknowledgements. Anyone who sent mail after the looping problem get any acknowledgements? If you want to get your posting back you can send a one line message to listserv SET APPLE2-L REPRO This wil tell listserv that you want to receive a copy as well. Normally listserv does not do this automatically. It is supposed to send you acknowledgements but the new way doesn't send them. So don't look for them. Chris P.S. I hope everyone on the list is getting two copies of this, one from info-apple and one from apple2-l. If you don't then there is something wrong and you should send me a note so I can figure out how to change your address to have mail sent to you again. This new way of sending mail may or may not work but I have no choice but to change it if I want to continue this list.
