[net.movies] Crew of Enterprise in Trouble? Nah....

Star Trek III....

Is the Enterprise crew really in deep sh*t???

I doubt it, and here are my reasons.....

1) They got rid of the Genesis materials. Maybe the project was
worthless as a colonizing tool, but I sure as hell wouldn't want it
shot at the Earth anyway.

2) They managed to bring back Spock. Big deal, you say? Spock is
only the son of a high ranking ambassador, and he belongs to the
family of T'Pau, the only woman to every turn down a seat on the
FEDERATION council.....

3) Do you think that Star Fleet really is going to give a crap
about the Enterprise, it's being 20 years old and all? I don't
think so, since they weren't going to re-fit it anyway.

4) If Kirk, Spock, Scott, McCoy, Uhura, et al are not accepted by
the Federation, they could do almost anything they wanted. This
includes joining on in some Vulcan beauracracy, joining any other
non-federation planet, even joining the Klingons or Romulans. Do you
really think that Star Fleet Command would risk that kind of loss.
They're sure as hell not going to come busting onto Vulcan to look
for them, and no Command officer in his right mind would cross with
Sarek, would you???

The crew of the late Enterprise DID NOT get rid of Genesis; David's
mother, Carol Marcus, was supposedly the one who "invented" the concept
   and she isn't dead.

The crew of the Enterprise DID get rid of Genesis...... the only reason
it worked is because David used Proto-matter, and He IS DEAD. Saavik
certainly isn't going to tell anyone ("condemned by every ETHICAL
sciencetist, blah blah")
