There were takeoffs on the "Shower Scene" from "Psycho" in "Phantom of the Paradise," in which the Phantom socked the lead singer Beef in the mouth with a toilet plunger, and in "Fade To Black," in which the movie-obsessed main character just cut and ran when the lady in the shower screamed. I haven't seen "High Anxiety," but I am assured there was a Shower Scene there too. Any more? By the way, did you know that the blood in the Shower Scene in Psycho was actually chocolate syrup? Did you know that Hitchcock got Janet Leigh to scream like that by turning on the COLD water in the shower? More to the point, did you care? David D. --------------- There was also a spoof in National Lampoon's Summer Vacation. Of course, High Anxiety is the definitive spoof (?) since the entire move spoofed Hitchcock's movies. Tom Almy

There is a brief spoof of the shower sequence in Mike Nesmith's "Elephant Parts". In the skit "Have a Nice Day", a take off on slasher film trailers, a man wearing a smiley face mask attacks a woman in a shower with an electric drill. -- Jay Elvove ..!seismo!umcp-cs!jay

There was a great spoof of the shower scene in Mel Brookes High Anxiety. It was complete with a newspaper as the weapon and an ending shot of ink stained water swirling down the drain. dave

Don't forget! After the bellboy finishes "stabbing" Mel Brooks with the newspaper Brooks says "That kid gets no tip".
