The Videx Enhancer ][ is a board that replaces the piggyback keyboard encoder board on ]['s and ][+'s. Installation is easy, and the card with the supporting software provides the following features: + Full ascii keyboard (128 ASCII codes) + Upper and Lower case display + User-definable key codes, via download. (this one is really neat!) + 128 character type-ahead buffer (with buffer flush/reset functions) + Auto repeat (adjustable speed) + Shift-lock + Control-reset option (like //e) + Dvorak keyboard option + Complete code listings and schematics + Can be bypassed to allow standard keyboard operation + Can be used in conjunction with the Videx Videoterm card, and makes use of the Videoterm a LOT easier! (no CNTL-A switching, etc.) This card is really neat; unfortunately, I no longer have a need for it. If you have a Videoterm card already, you NEED this! If you don't (I didn't), then you still need it! :-) Besides all of the other stuff, I found the type-ahead buffer to be nice (for me) and the downloadable key definitions nice (for my users). In applications that you write, you can redefine keys to send MACROS, like entire strings of characters, to your application when the user presses only one key. Another thing I used the macros for is to program some keys to send things that I used a lot in games (north, down, eat ogre, etc.) It comes with a bunch of software, including pre-boot disks for Applewriter and Apples UCSD Pascal system, and a bunch of utilities for keyboard macros and other capabilities of the card. I'm asking $50 for the card and all the software (original packaging included! :)), and I'll pay shipping anywhere in the US. Outside the US, and I'll split shipping.
