There was a great editorial cartoon in the 2/88 issue of "Open Apple" regarding Apple's marketing strategies. There is a picture of a computer store called "Computer Pit." There is a sign on the window that says "Buy an Apple Macintosh and get a free spreadsheet program and a year's subscription to the Wall Street Journal" and another sign that says "Buy an Apple //GS and get a free skateboard and a pair of free tickets to a Menudo concert."
