Hi folks! Were you folks who are writing shareware, freeware, public domain, etc software aware that if your software is uploaded to Genie that a Genie user is not permitted to download it and then upload that copy to another service - or for that matter not permitted to give copies to friends, clubs, etc.? At least, that is how I read the copyright info that I have seen mentioned in a few places recently. If you are a Genie user, perhaps you could get a public statement from their officials to the contrary, but that was the way I understood it explained recently by a lawyer on another service. Does anyone know what the policy is for Delphi? I have been off of that one for so long I dont know if I can even remember my password? What other services (besides CIS - I know their policy, as I fought with them over the wording a few years ago along with a lot of other folks) are there and what are THEIR copyright policys? The reason that I mention this is that I HEAR that Genie has several nice IIgs programs available. Since I can only afford one service, I have been using one local to me. It makes it much easier to get problems taken care of, and response time is better. Anyways, it seems silly for folks to upload their software to a place where only the limited subscribers can use it, unless that is the specific intention. If you would like to have your software uploaded elsewhere and do not have an account on Delphi, CIS, etc. - ask around, perhaps someone out there would be interested in working with you! -- Larry W.
