Does anyone know about smalltalk-pc / smalltalk-mate for the apple // ?
u may think i'm crazy, but i need it !
in fact such a thing *does* exist & i dont care for speed, educational
pyrpose only...
i've read BYTE 5/85, page 155-15x :
'...provides run-time scheduling and multitasking....multilevel
scheduling, queue handling and semaphores...'
'smalltalk-mate will run on multiple-processor hardware, incl.
the Apple II and IBM PC with added processor cards....'
'The database-processing toolkit has extensions to interface
relational database functions to hard-disk- and network-based
information systems.'
'..run<s> coresident with the p-system <UCSD> and MS-DOS among others...'
'supports reading & writing of files in other formats, like DOS3.3, CP/M,
MS-DOS, and the p-system.'
the only problem is that i dont know where to buy that....no answer on
my letters to the address that accompanied the article in BYTE...
if anyone knows it perhaps ,or knows ( a uucp ? ) adress of the author
Mr. Cristopher Macie
i would be delighted if the one would let me know ! or are there
in fact any ppl USING that thing ?
thank you in advance !
