I am very interested in Apple IIgs Fonts. Sadly, there is precious little documentation available as to the format of standard Apple IIgs Font files. Is there any documentation available out there which covers this subject in detail. I have a few of the third party manuals which deal with the Apple IIgs and it's built in Toolbox routines, but they are really just overviews and not at all specific in decribing the format for Fonts. Ideally, is anyone aware of a Font customizing utility for the Apple IIgs? I have heard rumors of the FONT MUNGER, but I have no access to a Mac so this is of no help to me. I also saw that in the current issue of the CALL -A.P.P.L.E. Magazine there is a program which allows DOS TOOL KIT fonts to be converted to Apple IIgs standard fonts. The drawback is that the program is written in some obscure GS.BASIC language available only through ADPA for $50.00 . I am hoping that someone out in Netland has access to the structure of font files and would be willing to send (or post) this information. I, for one, really njoy customizing and creating my own fonts. I am very dissapointed that there have been so few fonts available for the Apple IIgs. The Apple IIgs Prodos 16 Disk only comes with about six fonts on it and most commercial programs are provided with only a few more (usually 10-12 fonts of the same general styles: Helvetica, New York, Venice, Monaco, etc). I would really have expected that hundreds of fonts would be availably by now! Seeing that they can so easily be converted from Standard Mac Fonts. Why is there such a small selection available? And if not, where can I get access to new fonts? I remember reading once that all fonts are public domain (Mac fonts) and that only the name of the font could be protected by copyright. Is this true for Apple IIgs fonts aswell? And does this imply that all you have to do is rename a font in order to make yourself a copy of it? I would appreciate any and all responces. Thanx in advance. ============================================================================== ARPA: aehl@csd4.milw.wisc.edu USMAIL: Donald Aehl Box #204 3400 N.
