Is it really that difficult to by-pass the interrupt checking (as AE Pro is able to do)? I know that would mean (some) characters will get lost at 1200 baud or higer BUT most bbs's and even many mainframes have a "nulls" feature (add nulls to ends of lines so that it's a few superfluous nulls that get lost not the actual text) that make the whole interrupts (or polling) exercise unnecessary. At least some accelerators disable interrupts for a real SSC (even with the proper switch on) and MANY of us own SSC clones of one sort or another that don't support interrupts. If you can't support the users who actually can find their checkbooks, it's hard to maximize revenue on shareware. --------------------- Disclaimer: My employer often is appalled by my opinions, and my facts may be only vaguely right <slippery when wet>.
