Does anyone know if there is a way to run dos 3.3 programs off of a hard drive that is advertised as prodos only. I was planning on buying the Sider 40 meg hard drive, however, I cannot decide which model to buy. There is one model that supports dos, prodos, etc and another model that supports prodos only but is able to work with the macintosh as well. I would like to be able to run dos 3.3 programs off of it as well as be compatible with the macintosh. I don't need to run the hard drive on the mac and the apple at the same time. Please send replies to me directly and I will summarize to the list. Thanks, Chris

i have a harddisk from frank&britting with dos 3.3, UCSD 1.1/1.2, CP/M 2.2 and ProDOS partitions, all bootable. it fits *inside* my //e, replacing the power supply with a smaller/better one with fan and a 3 1/2 " hard disk. the controller alone is about DM 1000 (*not* dollars german marks...) and is for ST506 hardisks. mail me if you're interested, i dont have their adress at hand. {u may have up to 32 dos 3.3 volumes, 4 cp/m vols, 4 ucsd vols and one prodos. all are of configurable size, up to 1 MB each for CP/M, 16MB for ucsd, and the usual 32MB for prodos. dos 3.3 vols are 140k each, not changeable} hope that helps ! {i *love* this system...:-} -- Heiko Blume # DOMAIN: blume@netmbx.UUCP { BITNET: ( mixed } Seekorso 29 # BANG : ..!{backbone}!netmbx!blume D-1000 Berlin 22, West-Germany # Phone : (+49 30) 365 55 71 or ... 365 75 01 Telex : 183008 intro d # Fax : (+49 30) 882 50 65
