< Has anybody gotten one of the Bachelor 1/2 height drives that BCE (I think) <had for mail order before they went bankrupt? If so, hopefully you have <experienced the same difficulties that I am, and have fixed them: < < 1) The drive door cannot be closed all of the way, but only about 75% < of the way for a disk to work in it. I have played around on the inside, < and found that the door WOULD work IF it were held down a little further < internally. If it is not held down, the disk nearly stops spinning. < How would I lower the device or whatever? Can be dealt with, but < nonetheless irritating. < My drive does not have this problem, though maybe after I use it a while... < 2) It is spinning too fast, but I have no clue as to how to modify the < speed on it. The only pot that I can see on the board uses a plastic(?) < screw, and a substance on it (as is on every screw on the dang thing) < exists so that if it is turned, they can tell (I think it is kind of < paint..maybe). Anyway, since this stuff is on the screw, the screw won't < turn easily, and since it is plastic, it's sides give way before it does. < I guess I mainly want to know if it will be necessary to remove their < pot and put my own on, and IF SO, what ohmage range should it have? I got one of these drives. I have had a few problems with reading and writing, but not too many. There IS a drive speed adjust. At one point in trying to get the thing working with my Laser 128 computer, I got a letter showing me how. Basically, there is a hole in the circuit board that has a screw the size of an eyeglass screw which can be adjusted. It is about 3/4 of an inch from the rotating drum which holds the disk. The drive is very fast before you adjust it. Hope this helps! Michael Campanella
