[comp.sys.apple] Epic 2400 internal

gregp@pro-carolina.cts.COM (Greg Prevost) (02/25/88)

I have a friend who has one and from what I understand about the situation is
that he had to send his back 3 times before he got a working one. Evidently
they still had bugs and everytime he got a new one it had a higher rev. number
and worked better. He now has a working one and it seems to have no more
bugs. If so then any of you who have ordered them may start seeing them.
According to my friend, he has gotten it to work with Proterm and Ascii
Express DOS and ProDOS along with some lessor known term programs.

At 159.00 it may be worth it. Modems are a pain in the neck though, I have
bought 3 modems so far and each time with an upgrade in speed and each time it
was cheaper then the modem before, so far I have spent almost 1000 on modems
in the last few years and I am only at 1200. Where were the 159 dollar modems
back then? Tsk tsk...
