Each issue of _Computer Shopper_ has a large section with BBS numbers. The
current (March 1988) issue also has an article on U.S. Federal Government
BBS.

Call Ward and Randy's _CBBS#1_ (312) 545-8086.

In it's 11th year of operation. You might remember Ward's name, he and
his buddys invented XMODEM protocol.

Messages 16-19 are an updated list of
local (area code 312) BBS. It's a long list.

It is called the Labrynth (606)293-2309
On it are several message bases
     an on-line game
A list of local area (Lexington) BBS's

And it is done with the program the that SysOp wrote.

Richard Hite is also the creator of the game "The Warzone"
Which is also running on there as the on-line game.

The hardware pretty much is just a TRS-80 III with 4 Disk Drives
and 3 of which are 2S2D I think.

It is a real good system and if a person with a Tandy is interested
he might give out a copy of the software. Who knows?

There is a small but very servicable BBS in the Altoona, Pa. area. It is
called the Portage Railroad BBS. It is 24 hrs/daily, 300,1200,2400 bps.
Protocol is 8/none/1. (814)944-6588 .It supports Coco's,Apple's,IBM's,
and Commodore. Storage capacity is around 50 meg. , and it has a large
graphics library of apprx. 70 pictures. :->

I'd like to add my BBS, the Heart of Gold, to the list. It hasn't got any
file section or anything amazingly neato like that, yet... It's run on
software that I wrote 5 years ago for my TRS-80 model I, and it ran on said
computer for 4 1/2 years... I just moved it to my IBM a little while ago.
Anyway, I'm in the process of rewriting the software so it's a lot better...
planned inclusions are: Full-screen support for those who have got terminal
emulators, UUCP support, Netnews support, (I already have most of the software
for the last two working)... and when I get another hard drive, online games.
It'll be a nice little system... The new stuff should be working in 2 or 3
months. Anyway, the phone number is (814) 238-9633, 300/1200 baud (2400
coming soon), 24 hours a day.

Another system you might want to add is The Shadowland, (814) 238-4654.
It has 2 phone lines and it's running on a Wyse 386. This phone number
auto-switches between the two modems. (300/1200/2400 baud.)
