Murphy's reply to Todd South contained a few *really* important statements, e.g., 193 subscribers to APPLE2-L "if ... subscribers could be counted" -- we need 100 YES votes for a comp.binaries.apple2 newsgroup. Question 1: When rec.equestrian's newsgroup was created I really didn't see a call for votes and wonder if Ken just forwarded his list of subscribers to the net gods and asked for a newsgroup. Question 2: There's so *little* traffic in *some* of the newsgroups, I see no reason why we would be denied our request for comp.binaries.apple2 or whatever it will be called, if we ask Chris to submit his mailing list to the net gods evidencing more than 100 subscribers. Question 3: If Chris at BROWN.BITNET can't submit the request because he's at a BITNET site; who would be willing to submit the mailing list to the net gods and go thru the procedures for creating this newsgroup? And if I'm all wrong about any/all of the above and *most* of you are still apathetic about a newsgroup where you could get public domain, shareware programs, regularly, send flames to /dev/null. *mega sigh* -- Patt Haring {sun!hoptoad,cmcl2!phri}!dasys1!patth Big Electric Cat Public Access Unix (212) 879-9031 - System Operator Three aspects of wisdom: intelligence, justice & kindness.
