#R:mako:-14700:ihlpf:6700001:000:1394 ihlpf!ctb Jun 9 17:46:00 1984 . mild spoiler.... pooh on you :-) i saw ST3, and went away with a bad taste in my mouth. the klingons were believable?? what was that plastic crap on top of their heads?? did that look real? was that a klingon ship or a romulan ship??? who had 'bird like' ships and cloaking devices in the original star trek?? ROMULANS. the klingons looked like WIMPY villians. give me kahn any day. now there was a mean guy!! the character development was NOT there for some of the characters. saavik(sp) might have well been dead the entire movie. i CHEERED when kirk's son was killed. i don't want to make this a big spoiler or anything, but remember when that one big event happens that shocked everyone?? (hint: it involved the enterprise) don't you think they could have made a little a little bigger deal about it?? i was upset!!(and so were others in the audience). anyway, the movie could have been GREAT, but it was simply good. i'll admit, there were a few good laughs and one liners handed around, but not enough to make up for the goof ups, WIMPY villian's, terrible characters(saavik), etc. on a related topic, is it true that spock(nimoy) refused to act in the movie if he couldn't direct??? (on the other hand, saavik refused to act, but they left her in the movie!! :-) ) if so, that's really childish!! any comments?? ron NOTE replies to: ...ihdev!rjv
