SEWALL@UCONNVM.BITNET (04/01/88)
Since there have been several posts about the duplicate messages on the bitnet end of the distribution. Here's some info. The problem IS being looked into. It may take a few days to trace (nasty little duplicate messages can't be counted upon to show up when we're looking for them - 'tis like the proverbial "watched pot that never boils"). Have patience (what more can you expect from an all volunteer labor force). >Date: Thu, 31 Mar 88 09:51:58 CST >From: ND HECN E-mail Postmaster <INFO@NDSUVM1> >Subject: Re: Duplicate mail from info-apple >In-Reply-To: Message of Thu, 31 Mar 88 09:04 EST from <SEWALL@UCONNVM> > > If experience with INFO-C, another list we forward, is any indication, >there IS a problem on the Internet with timeouts between a couple of sites >causing mail to be resent.
