[comp.sys.apple] Is there a general disk-cacher?

I was wondering if there is any sort of program that will do disk-caching
for any device (particularly my hard disk). Does anybody know if the
mythical ProDOS 16 2.0 would have such capability? Also, the caching must
remain active under Prodos 8 and 16 and not get wiped out by transferring
back and forth between the two.

Any word on the next version of the Finder (release date, features, etc)?
