[comp.sys.apple] documentation as a piracy deterent

consider the fact that most pirates do not work singely. They work in groups,
and in all of these groups you will probably find at least one person who
cannot code or crack worth beans. So in order to get their names on a Krack
page and to be considered part of the group they are more than willing to
spend several hours typing in documentation and also distributing it to
various boards around the country. You might also consider tha fact that
most pirates don't consider a program cracked unless they have removed all
the protection that they can or at least bypassed it. In any case they
will most likely take information that a user would normally have to search
through a manual to find and put it in a nice neat little table that would
be easier to use than the original documentation. Do not think by this
letter that I condone piracy... I don't, but I cannot help but admire the
fact that the more difficult the protection gets, the more advanced the
pirates become. It's a never ending cycle.
