[comp.sys.apple] Appleworks patch

CS656@OUACCVMB.BITNET (12/13/87)

The Appleworks patch that has been floating around has quite a few
problems. This new patch was in a letter to the latest issue of National
Appleworks Users Group's newsletter. Hopefully, enough people will subscribe
because of this posting that they will not sue me for copyright infringement.
Get into BASIC and set the prefix to Appleworks or whatever subdirectory
that you start Appleworks from.
If you did not modify Appleworks with the Pinpoint Accessories type
BLOAD APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000 and <RETURN>
If you have installed Pinpoint then it's
BLOAD APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000,B$3500,L$2000 <RETURN>
If you have version 2.0 of Appleworks enter the following to get your
clock card to automatically enter the data:

POKE 14148,76
POKE 14149,238
POKE 14150,39

IF YOU HAVE VERSION 1.2 TYPE:

POKE 13518,76
POKE 13519,120
POKE 13520,37

THE FOLLOWING PATCHES SHOULD WORK FOR 1.1 AND 1.3

VERSION 1.1

POKE 13522,76
POKE 13523,124
POKE 13524,37

VERSION 1.3

POKE 13855,76
POKE 13856,201
POKE 13857,38

If you do not have Pinpoint installed then type
BSAVE APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000
If you do then type
BSAVE APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000,B$3500,L$2000
This is from a letter sent in by
                       Robert Oberholtzer
                       Houston Texas

While entering this I noticed that it only deals with the time and
date. Here's the original patch from the Software touch people. It makes no men
tion of Pinpoint.
BLOAD APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000
For version 1.3
POKE 13193,44 to skip the pause on startup
and the original time and date patch for 1.3
POKE 13855,208
POKE 13856,19

AND FOR VERSION 2.0
POKE 14468,44 to skip the pause
and
POKE 14148,208
POKE 14149,19
for the old (and flawed) time and date stamp.
Ending, of course, with
BSAVE APLWORKS.SYSTEM,TSYS,A$2000
I have not tried the second patch yet but intend to as I have so much trouble
with the first one.

Some time ago, a patch was posted for appleworks to allow the program
to continue off of one disk without waiting for either 'hit space to continue'
or the date, presuming that it was available.

Can anyone send the patch (it was just a few lines) to me at
V066EDD9@ubvms.bitnet

I just got a 3.5 drive for my Apple //c

Thank you
