It appears Patt downloaded Glen Bredon's APPLE.RX from Compuserve and uploaded it to APPLE2-L without reading the documentation through (I confess I didn't look at the docs until I picked up hardcopy at our computer center, but I had decided to read them before passing the program along). In fairness to Patt, I think Glen (and others) should learn to put warnings and conditions at the top of files rather than 3/4ths of the way through. Under the circumstances, I don't believe it appropriate to leave the hex code for APPLE.RX in the APPLE2-L archive (leave the documentation though as directions for obtaining the program directly from Glen are provided). Glen's copyright statement (with request not to redistribute the program) is appended. Someone reading info-apple (comp.sys.apple) with access to Compuserve or other means of communicating with Glen might let him know that there's been a major glitch in his limited distribution plan as more than 200 copies of APPLE.RX have been scattered about the globe. > Documentation for Apple.Rx > -------------------------- > > *Intervening text omitted* > >COPYRIGHT > >This program is copyrighted 1988 by Glen Bredon. I havent gotten apple rx from CIS yet, but I do know that the description for it, which one typically displays before downloading, very explicitly states that it MUST not be uploaded to any other source. The only way one would miss this note is if one downloaded the file blind - possible but not typical. I will pass along the info to Prof. Bredon - I am sure I will hear loud flames that belong to someone else :-( -- Larry W.
