[comp.sys.apple] Apple Public Domain

SEWALL@UCONNVM.BITNET (04/16/88)

There ought to be an Apple Club in your vicinity. Usually they
have LOTS of software. Even though the ][+ is a bit dated, I
assume the donated one has 64K and an 80 column card. Hence
it ought to be able to run a public domain word processor known
as FredWriter. If you can get ahold of Apple II Kermit (even an
old version), you can download FredWriter from Bitnet (it's in
the APPLE2-L section of LISTSERV@BROWNVM along with the most
recent release of Apple 2 Kermit).

There are some shareware bbs programs, but they won't work on a
II+. Commware that will work is available by mail order for $70
or so (compared to MS-DOS or Macintosh, Apple 2 software is inexpensive).
