[comp.sys.apple] 80 Columns in assembler

spike@bu-cs.BU.EDU (Spike) (04/16/88)

I am working on a version of the game Robots for Apple//s. It
is simple enough, and may already exist. I'm writing it anyway, for
two reasons:

	1) I'm writing it in both 6502 and 65802 to see the differences
in size, speed, and programming style.

	2) To start building up a library of routines for my other
project, a rogue clone for the Apple. (No, don't ask for
it, as it is far from done).

I'm look for information on writing 80 column routines. There
are a number of way to write to the 80 screen on the //c, but which
(if any) will also work on the GS or the //e with an Apple 80 column
card. How about other, popular video boards? Also information on
reading the keyboard in 80 column mode would be useful.

Btw:	I'm still trying to find out if the new //c mother board with
RAM expansion will fit in the old //c case... Anyone?

RE: "New" //c Mother board in "old" //c case

I had a new motherboard put in about a year ago. No problem. There's lots
of room inside the //c case.
