I have a //C and prefer the small green monitor that it came with for text.
However, Color is very nice for the occasional game. I tried a combination
color and text monitor but didn't like the text or the color. This was a fairly
expensive apple monitor. I am now using my original monitor and an Amdex 300.
I have the Amdex sitting on a stand next to my desk and move the RCA wire to it
when I want color. I feel that I get the best of both worlds and the best part
is that I picked up the Amdex for $100.00. Another possibility for occasional
use is to plug your monitor cable into the VIDEO IN port of your VCR. You can't
imagine how nicely this works until you try it. You can even start the tape and
record your program. Create intro's for home videos with Fontrix.
Be carful about leaving the same scene on for too long at a time though as this
can cause burning of the screen. ( I am told)
Now I have to get one a switch for RCA type plugs so that I can switch monitors
without unplugging things.
