[comp.sys.apple] KinderSkills, IIe joystick port, graphics routines

UN027513@WVNVMS.BITNET (04/18/88)

I am part of a design group that is attempting to build a whole-body video
game for the KinderSkills program at West Virginia University. The program
involves children ages 3-5. We are writing two video games and building
a giant joystick on which the children will stand. We are developing the
program on an Apple II+ and running it on a IIe. We would like to use the
External connector on the IIe (rather than the internal game I/O connector)
but we don't have a pin-out for the nine-pin connector. Can anyone send
me a diagram of this connector?

Also, the pushbuttons must be LSTTL compatable. Should we use normally
closed pushbuttons wired to ground, or normally open pushbuttons wired
to +5 V with a pulldown resistor to ground?

In addition, we need some sort of graphics routines. I vaguely remember
articles in Softalk about graphics routines. Does anyone have or know of
any good animation routines for Apple hi-res? We would need source code
for the routines.

Thanks in advance,

David Bruce
