[comp.sys.apple] deletion from list

melmoy@NPRDC.ARPA.UUCP (03/12/87)

Thank you for your past services. My work has changed such that
it is no longer necessary for me to continue receiving info-apple
messages. Please delete me from the list.

Please delete my name from your list.

Thefollowing is a list of people who were deleted from the list
because they invalid addresses. If your name appears below and you
want to be on the list, please send me a letter to MY account and
not to the list. I need to figure out your correct address before I
can add you.

A bunch of people on the APPLE2-L list have been deleted from the list
because mail has been bouncing back (I got over 300 files back and they are
still coming in!!!) The problem is the CUNYVM connection to their node
has been down for a long while. If you would like to be added back
just resubscribe later. I can't keep getting these files back. There
are just too many of them. (NOTE that I have only delete those people
that have been consistently having files coming back over the last few
weeks.
There are also some of you that have disk quotas. I am trying to send
mail very slowly to "flood" your accounts but there seem to be still
problems. Please if you are on the APPLE2-L list, clear out your mail
everyday. I still have lots to send out to the list but I am afraid
to send them for fear of them bouncing.
     I'll shut up now.

Note that this is not a person message to any one person but to the entire
list so it may or may not apply to you.

**** FLAME ON ****

Some of you have asked to be deleted from the apple2-l list because you
are on the comp.binaries list. I WILL DELETE YOU FROM THE LIST BUT GIVE ME
A BREAK HERE. STOP SENDING MULTIPLE LETTERS. All they do is fill my already
overfilled mailbox. It is not fun to log on to find that you have 200-300
pieces of mail (this has been the case in the last few days!) that are all
generated by one stupid mailer - DOCKMASTER.ARPA. That is right. For
every post that was sent to it last week, it returns to me 56 pieces of mail!!
I only spend about 2-3 hours a day cleaning up this junk mail. When is it
going to stop??? Postmaster at Dockmaster.Arpa are you listening????

**** FLAME OFF ****

Anyway, just be patient and I will get to your letter as soon as the dust
clears. I won't send out any postings until I do delete those that want to
be deleted. I will hold onto them. You will receive mail from
listserv@brownvm confirming that you have been deleted when I do get a
chance to do it.
