OK, I see that the GIF mania has reached comp.sys.apple. The complete docs to GIF and the compression algorithm was posted to comp.graphics sometime ago. So I will repeat the offer I made in comp.sys.mac. If you want a copy, send me a note. Note 1 : The file is a UNIX SHAR file. If you prefer a uuencode version, say so. Note 2 : My machine has a name conflict with CONVEX.uucp so try to include a return address that can bypass that machine. Does anybody out there have SHR convert? It's on Apple2-L (87-00238 I think), but Apple2-L stopped mailing to me for some reason. If anybody out there has it I would appreciate either a) an e-mail copy or b) a posting to comp.binaries.apple2. This brings up another question... does anybody else who gets things from LISTSERV@BROWNVM through berkeley have problems with Apple2-L stuff? It's only the archives that are problematic; even though I've unsubscribed from Apple2-L, I'm still receiving the new stuff.
