Writing uuencode/uudecode for the Apple would be helpful, esp. considering the problems I've had uploading binaries. It would be nice to be able to upload a file as text, and then let UNIX convert it to binary w/o worrying about xmodem adding any garbage to it. If anyone is interested, I do have the source for atob and btoa (which are probably the predecessors to the uu programs). Both are fairly short C programs (100 lines or so) and wouldn't be too hard to convert. Side note: I'm still looking for the elusive SHR convert. Ucbvax has been acting up, so if someone has it at an ftp-able location, I would appreciate hearing about it (receiving mail _usually_ works). -- laba-4an@widow.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) "I disclaim everything."

Pascal and C source code for MS-DOS versions of both uuencode and uudecode is available for ftp at SIMTEL-20.ARPA in the directory pd1:<msdos.starter>. I also have a copy of it, and if anyone wants to try to hack it to work on the Apple, I can e-mail a copy... -- MarK T.
