Ok it has come to my attention that we have a problem with large postings going out to the list. By large I mean > 500 lines. Of course, most of the postings are larger than 500 lines. The CUNYVM postmaster has been complaining about this. So to deal with this problem I will have to cut off most of the arpanet users since that is what goes through the CUNYVM gateway. I thought that this problem was going to be solved when the USENET gateway was formed but unfortunately I misunderstood what the list really was. I am not saying that this link is not good. It is, but we also need a redistribution on ARPANET and we need it fast. Something like info-apple that ARPANET users can get to. Another way to solve this problem is to post only the small stuff and archive everything else, but the problem here is that some of the arpanet site cannot use the GET command, am I correct in this point? One other way to solve this problem is to split the list in two - one for gs owners and one for everything else. This way you only get those programs that you really want. Of course, there is an obvious problem with this as well. Anyone else have any ideas??? Send them to me and not the list. Better yet lets get an arpanet list. Also those of you on bitnet sites with several users might ask your postmaster to create a local distribution account for apple2-l. Respond as fast as possible since this is a continuing problem that must be solved or else the list get cancelled. Chris
