Is Apple really coming out with this puppy? I assume a monochrome flat top screen with a color RGB jack output. Do you think they are REALLY doing this machine or is someone (like me) just rocking the boat? Bill

If I was a user and I wanted a portable GS, I would hope it has color (look at Zenith or NEC laptops, but their IBM compats (at least I thought these computers had color screens on the laptops)), otherwise, why call it a GS (which I assume was to stand for Graphics and Sound, when the G part is half gone). You'd think there would be a mac laptop out before a GS laptop, esp with the fuss over the screen to use on a mac laptop. so much for reality. -- Bob Kusumoto | Follow me! So far, the "laptop GS" rumor is mostly wishful thinking (although I did see a claim somewhere that Video Technologies, makers of the Laser 128, IS working on a IIgs clone -- whether that'll be "portable" remains to be seen). It does appear that Apple plans to market a new //c, but it looks like the only changes will be: INTERNAL 3.5 inch drive, and (maybe) a Zip chip clone (similar to the Laser 128EX). Nothing to the effect that Apple will do what they should have done YEARS ago and add a port to the bus for a "slot box" on the left side. On a similar subject. When I bought my //c, I assumed that EVENTUALLY someone would market a decent flat panel display. Does anyone know if there's anything at least as readable as a backlit supertwist LCD for the //c? --------------------- Disclaimer: The "look and feel" of this message is exclusively MINE!
