Here are some more in-jokes and background humor from GREMLINS. - The Time Machine from the George Pal movie was in the background during one of the phone calls from the Inventor's Convention. In the next shot, it was gone and everyone was standing around scratching their heads. - One of the film cans in the projection room at the movie theater where the Gremlins were watching "Snow White" was labeled "Miracle Pictures." You know: "If it's a good film, it's a Miracle!" It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time to meet the Gremlins at the movie theatre tonight... David D. Levine (...decvax!tektronix!tekecs!davidl) [UUCP] (tekecs!davidl.tektronix@csnet-relay.csnet) [ARPA] P.S. See this one before you get sick of all the Gremlin merchandise. It's a really good film, but it's going to be sickeningly commercialized...

Can someone explain the significance of the electrified artichoke dancing around on the kitchen table in the scene where we see the Peltzer coffee brewer in action? (This takes place right after they untangle the dog from the Christmas lights...)

Possibly a reference to the original "The Thing", where the giant vegetable creature (James Arness) is toasted by the scientists in the Artic circle?
