Not sure where you're talking about that you think I should be posting TIC but am not as no one has requested to me that I send a copy of a later version of TIC to any usenet address in the past. TIC in it's latest version (available since December of '87) has been widely available on every major information service I know of (i.e. the Source, Compuserve, GEnie) and on hundreds of bulletin boards world wide. It's also available from most every Apple // users group. Alfred Glossbrenner makes it available (with permission) for $5 for the shareware version and the Public Domain Exchange (with permission) also sells it on disk for $5 in the shareware format. Believe me, it's not that difficult to find. It's not really that important that the latest version be available in fact on networks and such as anyone who tries even version 1.27 can get enough of an idea of the program from that to know whether they should investigate using the program and surely anyone who would use the program regularly would be honest enough to register the program and get the latest version and complete docs. Sure there's lots more functionality in version 2.03 and more still in 3.00 (not yet released) but there's no way for me to keep up with every nook and cranny that TIC makes its way to when other folks post it. I've never posted a copy to any Usenet site remember (and wouldn't know where or how to post it in fact) so someone else must have posted the versions you couldn't access for some reason. Since it looks like TIC will be a commercial product soon, I probably won't be posting future versions to the net either though. Shareware either isn't successful at all or it's successful enough that it becomes very very time consuming to support. I like designing and programming a lot more than I like publishing and with TIC I'm spending a lot more time publishing than programming at this point but expect that a commercial version will do even better than the shareware form and will certainly leave me more time to write new and better software in the future (I've got a nice list of ideas that I've just not been able to write thanks to the time spent publishing TIC). I'll probably be setting a registration deadline for TIC and will have an upgrade deadline for the new version for registered users so the poeple who've been kind enough to honor my shareware agreement will be able to get the version that becomes the commercial version of the product. The people who've used TIC and not paid for it will of course not have an upgrade path short of going to their local software dealer and paying the full retail for the product though they can register before the deadline and get the upgrade much much cheaper than it will cost retail. More details on this conversion from shareware to retail when I have them.
