St. Petersburg Junior College has a TASK FORCE exploring the ways Macintosh is being used at the community (junior) college level to help faculty develop ways to bring classroom instruction into the computer age. We are looking for the ways people are using Macintosh in the areas of MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE in particular. This task force would like your imput. Please title this way in comp.sys.mac: SPJC Task Force. Our main areas of concentration are presently the following. We hope to light some small fires of interest in our faculty in Mathematics and Science now, and other departments later: 1. Classroom instruction/simulation with Hypercard. 2. Any use of the software called 'TIMBUKTU.' 3. Networking faculty offices (file sharing, communication). 4. Uses of Hypercard (tutorial) for students. 5. Off campus dial-up by students (communication, tutorial). We are having some trouble finding community college faculty in this state, Florida, that are currently doing research in these areas. I thought since recently learning about the net, that I would post this and see what happens. I am in Mathematics instruction and a colleague of mine is in Microbiology. We are hoping to find those who are already doing work like this or perhaps we can create another news.group with some appropriate name.
