[comp.sys.apple] Need help with binary file newsgroup

gary@rencon.UUCP (Gary Falsken) (07/23/88)

Being a new user with my Apple II GS, I have a few questions!

	1. Now that I have a file on my unix box that says to
exec this code on the apple and unpack it with blu.
	   What do I do exectly?
	2. Where does on get blu? Do I run it on the unix box?
 	   or the apple?
	3. Is there a archive site that copies/makes disks that
I can subscribe too? I am willing to pay someone to
	   do this work.
	4. Is there any apple II GS users in Fremont, CA, other
           than me?

Thanks! e-mail me!

Have you a program that will transfer text files from your host to your
Apple (if your "unix box" supports XModem, then almost any Apple
communications software will do it)?

BLU = Binary Library Utility a ProDOS program which runs on Apple //e,
//c, IIgs.

APPLE2-L 88-00531 72 192 BLU V2.28 Documentation
APPLE2-L 88-00532 75 724 BLU228.EXEC

Ah but there's the rub, LISTSERV@BROWNVM won't let UUCP users retrieve
files from the archive and comp.binaries.apple2 doesn't archive.

Call A.P.P.L.E. Coop and the Big Red Computer Club (in Nebraska -- advertises
in InCider and A+) both carry extensive public domain/shareware libraries.

Big Red's catalog provides more description of what's on the disks, but my
impression is that A.P.P.L.E.'s library is larger.

Your best bet; I hope someone on the net can put you in touch with one.
