Here are a couple of notes that have been posted on GEnie: Category 1, Topic 23 Message 6 Tue Jul 26, 1988 AIIDTS [ Matt ] at 00:45 EDT Here's a little correction to the System Disk 3.2 release notes: The next-to-last paragraph at the bottom of page 2 says that "in order to be more descriptive, GET_DIR_ENTRY now returns End-of-file errors ($4C) instead of End-of-Directory ($61)." That sounds backwards, and it is. GDE will return $61 End of Directory, not $4C End of File. So don't rewrite your programs' error-checking routines based on that paragraph. What we're going to do is let anyone who's written a program that creates telecom library files (examples: ALU, BLU, DDD, ARC, etc.) send us a copy of their program, PREFERABLY along with the packing algorithm and/or the format of the data file created. When we receive that (and recognize that the program is written and not just someone's proposal), we will assign them an auxtype in filetype $E0, which is "Telecom Library File." Floyd Zink has already received an assignment for the next version of BLU, and Don Elton's old ALU program has auxtype $0000. The rest will be assigned by us. When the tech note monkey is off my back, I'll make up an official type announcement to be spread across the nation's modemways. Matt Deatherage Apple II Developer Tech Support - Apple ][ Forever!!!
