This map of the FrEdMail Network of school based computer bulletin boards may
be distributed for educational use, but not for sale, so long as the entire
file is distributed including the explanatory information at the file's end.

All systems with a plus ( + ) after their name in the System List are
reported to be twelve month (all year) systems. For example,
WSALEM + means an all year system.
Systems with a minus ( - ) after their name will be down for all or part
of the summer months.

LACOSTA at La Costa Elementary School in Encinitas is joining the FrEdMail
Network. Sysoped by Tim Reeve, LACOSTA is an all year system.
LAKESID is the correct Network name for the Lakeside FrEdMail BBS, not
LKSIDE as previously indicated on the Map. LAKESID is at 619-390-2689
at 3/1200 baud and is a 12 month system.
MOORE, operated by the Board of Education in Carthage, NC, and sysoped by
MBAGELY, has joined the Network and will be active around June 1. MOORE
will connect to the Network via BLADEN.
MT.CITY is located in Montana City, Montana, a suburb of Helena. MT.CITY is
sysoped by Christopher Martin and its phone number is 406-442-6737.
NCSDPI is now an active North Carolina node operating at 919-733-3397 (thanks
Herb McIntyre of BLADEN for helping update the Map!).
WALNUT isn't connected to the Network yet, according to OMSD co-sysop,
John St. Clair (thanks for helping update the Map, John!). They may
eventually connect via CALPOLY or OMSD.

To address email on the FrEdMail Net version 10, use the following format:
<first node>!<next node>!<last node>!<user name>
The first node is NOT the node you are calling when you send email but
rather the first node to which the system you are calling is connected on the
Network Map. An exclamation mark is used to separate each node's name from
the next one in the address and also to separate the node name and the user
name at the receiving end. You can always send email to SYSOP at a node if
you do not know the name of a user there. The sysop's name for each node is
also shown on the Node List. For example, say Peter Hutcher at OAKLAND wants
to send mail to Ken Gordon at SHHS, the proper address would be:
SNLNDRO!SDSU!FULLRTN!SHHS!KGORDON
and Kenn's return address to Peter would be:
FULLRTN!SDSU!SNLNDRO!OAKLAND!PHUTCHER
FrEdMail v
ersion 12 will use a different but similar addressing mode.
GBBS/CMS systems accept the version CMS v12 addressing mode (KGORDON@SHHS)
or the v10 mode described above.
