[comp.sys.apple] //e extended 80 column card anr AppleWorks 2.0

delaney@wnre.aecl.CDN (08/25/88)

I've had a request from a friend to find out what I can about using a
NEPTUNE extended 80 column card with 256k memory with APPLEWORKS 2.0. He
only seems to be able to use the first 64 K. Is there anyone out there who
can be of assistance or could give me some advice to pass along. I went
from a II+ to a gs and my Knowledge in this area is rather week. The card
works great as a large ram disk but he has some large speadsheets and database
work. So he would like to be able to make use of the extra memory

Thanks for your assistance

Grant

as far as i remember ( i had such a card long ago ) the problem is, that
ramworks 64k banks are 1,2,3,... and titan has used 1,3,5,7 or something
like that....otherwise they are identical.

hope this helps..

Your friend may want to contact the publisher of Plus Works II (Norwich
Data Systems Ltd., P.O. Box 356, East Norwich NY 11732-0356. Tel: 516-
922-9584 and 201-679-0594). The manual for the version I have, which is
a couple of years old, doesn't mention Neptune cards, but does include
Legend Industries, Titan/Saturn, Abacus, and many others. My version also
appears to be incompatible with ProDOS 8 v1.4, but perhaps more recent
versions are not.
