[comp.sys.apple] 6502 & 65C02 assembly

mark@UNTVAX.BITNET (08/23/88)

Well, nothing like starting on something really late, so here is my questions:
what is a good book, or book/disk combo for learning 6502 assembly? Recently,
I put a 65C02 in my unenhanced IIe and have been running just fine with
it, but I would think that there would be some differences in the assembly
code of each, is this the case?
Also, in case it helps, I am not unfamiliar with assembly in general
(I took an IBM 370 assembly class last Spring and thought that it was rather
interesting), but I do not know the Mini-assembler built into the II, so
I would like to have some specific Apple IIe guide.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The book "Assembly Lines" by R. Wagner is excellent. I do not know if
there is a revised version covering 65c02 opcodes available.

I'm seem to remember seeing a 65816 version of this book. At any rate, if
you understand the rest of the upcodes, then the new 65c02 opcodes shouldn't
cause any problems.
