[comp.sys.apple] speed comparisons

Did a very minor experiment on my new PC transporter.  The ads claim it
runs three times as fast as an XT.  Wrote a little loop in Basic (GW
BAsic on the PC; applesoft on the GS) -- A = 10 :  A = A*A .  Put inside
a 5000 iteration FOR loop the GS program took 15 seconds, the PC
transporter 12 (modulo measuring errors.)
