In line with several postings in the last couple of days, I would like to add my thanks that we have Keith Rollin reading the net and passing on our concerns to the appropriate people inside Apple. Given that he is reading all the stuff on the net it might be nice if some of us were less intemperate in berating Apple for perceived or real shortcomings. Think how you would feel if total strangers were constantly dumping on your company. Would you feel like going out of your way to help them? Fat chance! I do not mean that they shouldn't be taken to task when they do things not in the best interests of the Apple ][ community, however, there is no reason to be rabid about it. State your case and be done with it. I liked the one thing on the net a day or so ago where someone pointed out in their signature line that a certain well known automobile company had greatly improved the product and yet were not offering him an upgrade free or next to free. Consider another case. Soap companies are forever touting NEW and IMPROVED products. Have you ever gone back to the store with a half used box and demanded that they take it in lieu of a major part of cash for a new box of soap? All in all I think Apple has played pretty fair with the user community (no one is to mention those 3.5 unidisk drives as an opposing argument).
