From: Russ <Roberts.Wbst@XEROX.ARPA> *************************************************** ********** Very Slight Spoiler ******************** *************************************************** Went to see a sneak preview of a new flick called "Electric Dreams". I had no idea of what is was about except that the ad in the paper made it look something like a comedy that involved a computer.... And that WAS what it was about. Can't recall who the stars were as they were up til now unknowns. As a light-hearted comedy/romance the movie was enjoyable and had several very funny moments. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Computer gets in the way of boy/girl relationship (That's right COMPUTER... ). Certainly not a classic and definitly not on the par of GHOSTBUSTERS, but if your looking for a little escape some night this one isn't bad. Of course, you'll have to leave ALL your knowledge of computer science at home and give the moviemakers there right to take LOTS of poetic license with the abilities of the present day commercial home computer systems. If you go with lots of bias against distortions of the computer industry and if 100 percent technical accuracy is a requirement for you, you'll HATE this one, but if you can leave work at work for awhile, it was enjoyable. I could give you a list of hundreds of technical inaccuracies, but I won't go into a long flamer because the point of the movie wasn't to be a serious, technically accurate view of this world. But if you couldn't handle WARGAMES, then forget this one. Give it a 6 1/2..... -- Russ
