On November 19, 1956, "Our Mr. Sun" aired in color
on CBS at 10:00 p.m. It was followed in four-month
intervals by "Hemo the Magnificent," "The Strange
Case of the Cosmic Rays," and "Meteora, the Unchained
Godess." "Our Mr. Sun" was "he Bell Telephone
System's first entry into the TV ratrace," according
to Jim Hanna of N.Y. Ayer Agency's TV and Radio
division. Jim's company was the one that brought
the director, Frank Capra, and A.T.&T. together.

The cast of the series consisted of two humans,
Dr. Research and a Fiction Writer, and four
animated cartoon characters, Mr. Sun, Father
Time, Thermo the Magnificent, and Chloro Phyll.

The above information is taken from Frank
Capra's book, "The Name Above the Title."
