Despite what others have said about this movie, I enjoyed it alot. Lots of fun, some cute visual jokes, and some great dialog. Be sure to suspend disbelief. Did anyone else notice the parallels with "The Wizard of Oz" in this movie? The trailerpark people seemed right out of the Kansas scenes in OZ. The hairdos on the people on that other planet sure made them look like big munchkins, and, of course, Preston made a perfect Wizard. One thing that bothered me was that for all the effort spent on Computer Generated Imagery, they did not use it to its full potential. It looked like CGI was merely being used instead of model or hand-drawn animation. I mean, if you have a Cray at your disposal, why don't you do something that you couldn't do with any other form of animation? In particular, I thought that the "bad guys" came off rather weak; why didn't they use CGI to animate up some really weird bad guys? Something like the creatures we've seen in clips from "The Works". As it was, it was like they were trying to hide the CGI. Too bad. One thing I really liked about this movie is that it is the first space western that had the hero reluctant to kill, when the target was alive. That was a very nice touch.
