In case it helps, it would appear I am using version 1.1.1, 10/24/85 of Backup II, even though I just got it from a brand new Apple SCSI interface box about a month ago. (isn't there any more recent version?) I tried again saving the 2-disk's worth again, and noted more carefully exactly what happened. On the save, as I said before, it got all the way through, verified the last disk, said it was updating the directories, and then gave the error message. When I tried restoring the saved set (to a different directory) it only got as far as the first screen's worth of display -- my guess is that would be less than a third of the first disk -- before it gave the error message and halted. Tried saving a different part of the harddrive and had no (apparent) problems. TMPLee@dockmaster.arpa
