Are there any reasonable C compilers for the Apple II family? I'd be happy with a cross compiler or a compiler that ran on the target machine. I have a large, reasonable portable program that some GSII owners have shown interest in, and I'd like to port it. The compiled program needs a minimum of approximately 256K. Any pointers to compilers that can handle the load would be appreciated. I don't own an Apple, so I am not familiar with the literature nor the major machine limitations. My guess is that only the GSII will be able to handle this size program. Once compiled, I am giving away the program, at the cost of distribution. Electronically, that is effectively free, so I will be glad to make it available to this group as and when it is compiled. Briefly, the program is ISETL -- an interactive implementation of a subset of SETL that has raised functions to first class objects. It is currently available for Unix, PC/MS-DOS, Mac, VMS, and reportedly through independent ports to Atari-ST and Amiga. Those interested in ISETL should write to me. Those with pointers to C compilers may use their discretion in mailing or posting their replies. ----- Gary Levin/Dept of Math & CS/Clarkson Univ/Potsdam, NY 13676/(315) 268-2384 BitNet: gary@clutx Internet: gary@clutx.clarkson.edu -- ----- Gary Levin/Dept of Math & CS/Clarkson Univ/Potsdam, NY 13676/(315) 268-2384 BitNet: gary@clutx Internet: gary@clutx.clarkson.edu
